Why do I need a barcode?

The barcode is the clever part of the luggage plate. The moment that you have processed your order to print from our website, we add a unique barcode to your plate.

This barcode consists of your unique database identification number, which is linked to your profile. When editing your personal details of your profile and updating email or other addresses or phone numbers, your unique barcode will not be affected.

Should your luggage be misplaced either by you or someone else, the person who finds your luggage can log onto our website and enter your barcode. Only those details that you chose to display will be viewable in order for that person to contact you.

How do people know which website to go to?

We advertise our domain name as the supplier around the outer part of your luggage plate.
When purchasing your luggage plate, we ask you to choose whether you want your phone number and/or email address to be displayed with your name, in the event of someone finding your luggage and entering your barcode into our website barcode-search option. This way, you are in control of the personal information viewable by 3rd parties for contact purposes.

Details on normal luggage tags display exactly where you live, while the details on your unique, personalised luggage plates are your own, best-kept secret!

And remember, even if you change, for example, your phone number or email address afterwards, it will always be linked to the same barcode because the barcode is linked to your unique database ID.

With the unique barcode on your luggage plate, anyone anywhere in the world will be able to access our website and enter your barcode, upon which only your chosen details will be displayed for contact purposes. Your name, phone number OR email OR both (you choose) will be displayed in order for the finder of your luggage to contact you.
